VELGRAM is an emerging premium fashion brand focused on elevated, mindful and creative ready-to-wear for modern women. Rooted in sustainability, thoughtful construction, and timeless design, the brand blends structured femininity with effortless sophistication.
Currently in development for its Fall 2027 collection, VELGRAM is seeking a highly motivated intern interested in gaining hands-on experience within an independent luxury fashion startup.
This internship is ideal for someone seeking meaningful, real-world fashion industry experience beyond the classroom and who is excited to contribute to the early stages of building a modern luxury brand.
Position overview
The Fashion Product Development, Branding & Design Intern will work directly with founder and creative director Vivette Graham across creative, operational, branding, and product development initiatives.
This is a highly collaborative role offering exposure to:
- Fashion product development
- Fabric and trim sourcing
- Branding and visual storytelling
- Collection development and organization
- Technical design support
- Social media and content creation
- Trade show preparation
- Manufacturer communication
- Fit sessions and sample development
- Fashion startup operations
The ideal candidate is organized, creative, proactive, detail-oriented, and genuinely passionate about fashion entrepreneurship, branding, and luxury product development.
Key responsibilities
Product development & design support
- Organize fabric swatches, trims, labels, buttons, and sourcing materials
- Help maintain development binders and collection organization
- Assist with tech packs, line sheets, flats, and style documentation
- Support sketch refinement and technical design organization under creative direction
- Assist with development briefs and presentation materials
- Participate in fittings and sample reviews
- Support communication follow-ups with vendors, manufacturers, pattern makers, and machinists
- Assist in sourcing trims and materials for current and future collections
- Help organize and maintain the brand's fabric and trim library
- Assist with sample development and preparation
Branding, creative & marketing support
- Assist with social media content creation and organization
- Capture behind-the-scenes content during development, fittings, and travel
- Help organize mood boards, inspiration references, and visual assets
- Support photoshoot, campaign, and editorial preparation
- Assist with Canva, Adobe, and presentation formatting projects
- Participate in branding, visual storytelling, and marketing initiatives
- Help develop line sheets, presentation materials, and brand assets
Research & creative development
- Research sustainable fabrics, trims, suppliers, and production resources
- Compare fabric specifications, certifications, and pricing
- Assist with sourcing outreach and organization
- Participate in design research, trend analysis, and creative brainstorming
- Contribute ideas for future collections under creative direction
- Assist with embroidery, appliqué, and embellishment development concepts for future collections
Operational & administrative support
- Assist with scheduling, shipment tracking, and development logistics
- Help organize files, spreadsheets, and collection calendars
- Support preparation for meetings, fittings, trade shows, and presentations
Travel opportunities
This internship may include travel opportunities related to:
- Manufacturer visits in Los Angeles
- Local boutiques in the Houston, Austin, and Dallas area
- Fashion industry events, including potential visits to MAGIC Las Vegas
Availability during key travel dates is extremely important for this role. Anticipated travel window: August 10–16, 2026. Travel participation is preferred but may be discussed based on availability.
Qualifications
- Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, Business, or related field
- Strong interest in fashion startups, branding, and product development
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace, or Excel
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Interest in sustainable and luxury fashion
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Bonus skills
- Tech pack knowledge
- CAD or Illustrator skills
- Social media editing and content creation
- Styling or visual merchandising experience
- Sewing, embellishment, or textile experimentation experience
